Recovery at home:
swelling & pain, mastered.

A printable companion for the first 72 hours โ€” the four practices that keep swelling minimal and discomfort manageable. Download it, print it, keep it close.

01

Cold compresses, on rhythm

Apply a cold pack to the cheek for 20 minutes, then remove for 20 minutes. Repeat for the first 24โ€“48 hours. This is the single most effective way to limit swelling.

02

Stay ahead of the pain

Take your prescribed relief on schedule for the first three days โ€” don't wait for discomfort to build. Alternate with over-the-counter anti-inflammatories as directed.

03

Elevate your head

Rest and sleep with your head raised above your heart for the first 48 hours. Use extra pillows or a recliner. Gravity is your ally in reducing swelling.

04

Know the warning signs

If pain worsens after day three, or you notice a foul taste with fever, call the aftercare line. Dry sockets are common, treatable, and easiest resolved early.

This guide supports, but does not replace, direct guidance from your care team. For any concerns, call our 24/7 aftercare line at (406) 300-4444.
